Oxford Symposium in School-Based Family Counseling

The annual Oxford Symposium in School-Based Family Counseling is a project of the Institute for School-Based Family Counseling; the Symposium is co-sponsored by the University of San Francisco Center for Child and Family Development. The project is made possible in part by grant funds.

The 2008 Oxford Symposium in School-Based Family Counseling will be held at Brasenose College, Oxford, United Kingdom from August 10th to 15th 2008.

To better fulfill our international mission we will alternate the location of the Symposium each year, meeting at our Oxford home in even years (2008, 2010, 2012) and at other locations in odd years (2009, 2011, 2013). We will continue to use the name Oxford Symposium in School-Based Family Counseling irrespective of location as this name reflects our origins and continued international home base.

Sponsoring Organizations | The Institute for School-Based Family Counseling exists to promote the development of School-Based Family Counseling as a discipline through multiculturally sensitive programs that educate mental health professionals, educators, and the general public on the nature and value of School Based-Family Counseling.

The University of San Francisco Center for Child and Family Development is committed to the academic, psychological, social, and spiritual development of children and families through teaching, research, and direct service programs in School-Based Family Counseling; the purpose of the Center is to provide children and families (particularly under-served children and families) with a variety of culturally sensitive family counseling services.

Oxford Home | Oxford University was founded in the twelfth century and is the oldest English-speaking university. It consists of thirty-nine colleges which lie at the medieval heart of Oxford, the "sweet city of the dreaming spires."
