Mission Statement
The USF Center for Child and Family Development is committed to
the academic, psychological, social, and spiritual development
of children and families through teaching, research, and direct service
programs in School-Based Family Counseling. Our purpose is to provide children
and families (particularly under-served children and families) with a variety
of culturally sensitive family counseling services.
We are dedicated to the personal and social development of every child and adult who enters our doors.
The Center's services are available to individual adults, couples, families,
adolescents, and children. Our main School-Based Family Counseling program,
Mission Possible, provides counseling services to children and their families
at approximately forty schools in the San Francisco and Peninsula area. Our
Family Counseling Center offers counseling in a community agency setting using
both School-Based Family Counseling and traditional models, and operates out
of two facilities, primarily serving clients who are suffering with depression,
relationship problems, and difficulties with life transitions. School-Based
counselors may also, with their supervisors' approval, offer group counseling
and classes at the Center.
