The School of Education's credential programs are certified by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Credential Program Overview

Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential
(with optional Bilingual Crosscultural Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) Emphasis in Spanish)

Preliminary Single Subject Credential
(with optional Bilingual Crosscultural Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) Emphasis in Spanish)

Master's Programs

All credential students also enroll in one of the following master's programs:

Teaching

Teaching Reading

Digital Media and Learning

Teaching English as a Second Language

Catholic School Teaching

Certificate Program in Teaching Reading

To meet the growing need for teachers with special training in teaching reading, the department also offers the Certificate in Teaching K-12 Reading. Candidates who complete the 16-unit program will be eligible for the Reading Certificate issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
