Clear Administrative Services Credential

Eligibility for admission to the Professional Administrative Services Credential requires candidates to possess a valid Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and be employed in a position requiring that credential.

The Professional Administrative Services Credential is comprised of 24 units from the courses below.

Core Curriculum | 12 Units

Professional Credential Induction Seminar
Development of an individualized plan to meet the requirements for the Professional Administrative Services Credential. Includes analysis of prior academic and professional experiences, development of a set of goals and activities, identification of a mentor, and initiation of the journal-keeping process central to the Professional Administrative Services Credential program. Enrollment is limited to students in the Professional Administrative Services Credential program.

Professional Credential Assessment Seminar
Comprehensive assessment of Professional Administrative Credential candidates' completion of their individual program plans prior to recommendation for the credential. Review of transcripts, journals and attainment of individualized plan goals and activities. Enrollment is limited to students in the Professional Administrative Services Credential program.

Professional Practice of Educational Leadership (A)
Field-based applications of research, knowledge and skills developed as part of the individualized induction plan organized to address principles and concepts of administrative practice centered on the themes of a) organizational and cultural environment, b) dynamics of strategic issues management, c) ethical and reflective leadership, d) analysis and development of public policy, e) management of information systems, and f) management of human and fiscal resources. Includes maintenance of a journal containing observation, documentation and analysis of current issues and reflections on professional practice and personal growth. Enrollment is limited to students in the Professional Administrative Services Credential program.

Professional Practice of Educational Leadership (B)
Continuation of field-based applications of research, knowledge and skills developed as part of the individualized induction plan organized to address principles and concepts of administrative practice centered on the themes of a) organizational and cultural environment, b) dynamics of strategic issues management, c) ethical and reflective leadership, d) analysis and development of public policy, e) management of information systems, and f) management of human and fiscal resources. Includes maintenance of a journal containing observation, documentation and analysis of current issues and reflections on professional practice and personal growth. Academic coursework may be substituted as approved in the Professional Credential Induction Seminar. Enrollment is limited to students in the Professional Administrative Services Credential program.

Electives | 12 Units

12 units of electives selected to meet individual professional goals.

Eligible students interested in the Organization and Leadership doctorate may apply their Professional Administrative Credential units toward completion of the doctoral requirements.
