Module II: Navigation, Data Entry and Management

In this module you will be introduced to some basic features and navigational strategies for SPSS and learn the fundamentals of data entry. If you have actual data you wish to enter as you work through this module, you are encouraged to do so. It will make the learning experience more genuine for you. You do not need to have real data to complete this module however.

It is recommended to have SPSS running concurrently as you work. After reading a section or paragraph, you can "toggle" to SPSS to test your new knowledge and skill. (At times you will be directed to do so.) The suggested "toggle" method is to open both the instructional module of interest and SPSS, and minimize whichever file you are not working with. Alternately, you may wish to use a "split screen" method so that both SPSS and the module of interest are fully visible and accessible to you as you work.
