Phi Delta Kappa
Phi Delta Kappa is an international association composed of men and women devoted to excellence in education. Members include classroom teachers, school administrators, college and university professors, and educational specialists. In Phi Delta Kappa, members find fellowship which is based on common interests and ideas and a commitment to excellence in education.


Our Mission
At USF, we promote quality education that is essential to the development and maintenance of a democracy. Through continual interpretation and implementation of research, service, and leadership, we incorporate these instruments into a program of action which is appropriate to all aspects of education delivery and receipt.

Affiliation
Our San Francisco chapter is one of 668 Phi Delta Kappa chapters throughout the world. In addition to the United States, chapters reside in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, Italy, Okinawa, the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Spain, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, the Isthmus of Panama, Virgin Islands, and Guam. Total membership exceeds 125,000. Membership Categories
- Holders of a baccalaureate degree who work in a position requiring teacher certification in adult or continuing education, educational research, early childhood education, elementary education, school administration or supervision, secondary education, teacher education, higher education, or related field approved by the chapter.
- Student teacher or professionals with undergraduate education majors.
- Graduate students enrolled in education programs.
