California Pre-Doctoral Program/Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholars
The California Pre-Doctoral Program is designed to increase the pool of potential faculty by supporting doctoral aspirations of California State University (CSU) students who have experienced economic and educational disadvantages.

Eligibility
|
Applicants must be CSU graduate students (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) who want to pursue a doctoral degree at a doctoral-granting institution.
|

Conditions
|
Students must work closely with a CSU pre-doctoral program advisor and with faculty at the doctoral-granting institution.
|
|
Amount
|
Scholarship covers graduate school application and test fees, membership in professional organizations, journal subscriptions, etc.
|
|
Deadline
|
Early April.

Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarship
The Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to continuing graduate female college students of Latino background.
| Eligibility |
Be a Chicana/Latina woman; be a resident for at least two years in one of the following Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma. |
| Conditions |
Students must be enrolled in accredited colleges/universities in the listed Bay Area counties. All applicants must have demonstrated leadership and civic/community involvement. If awarded a scholarship, applicant must agree to do some volunteer work in the next year in support of the Chicana/Latina Foundation. |

Amount
|
Awards are for $1,500 and are given in two installments upon verification of student enrollment.
